Held this year from September 11-15, the Jewelry&Gem Fair is the worlds number one jewelry event, hosting over 50,000 buyers from around the world who come to inspect the wares of over 3,500 exhibitors displaying a huge variety of jewelry, gemstones, equipment and services. 

In fact, the event is so big that it must be held in two venues C the AsiaWorld-Expo and the Hong Kong Convention&Exhibition Centre C offering a total of 135,000 square meters of exhibition space. Attendees can browse an unprecedented range of products, talk with exhibitors from 22 countries, and visit the 16,000 square meters diamond pavilion, assembled under the banner of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the Israel Diamond Institute. 

And for those that arent familiar with the word horlogerie, its simply a fancy word for watchmaking. Therefore, the First Asia Haute Horlogerie Exhibition will be showcasing some of the best, the rarest, the oldest and the most expensive watches in the world. This event C also at the Hong Kong Convention&Exhibition Centre C will be held from September 24-27. Visitors can check out displays by renowned watch artisans, browse some of the worlds top brands, and visit the Mastery of Time exhibit, which traces humanitys history of timekeeping. 

Of course, visitors dont have to spend all their time within the confines of the two huge venues C each is located near to some of Hong Kongs most popular attractions. AsiaWorld-Expo is located at the Hong Kong International Airport, which has easy access to the famous Tian Tan Buddha statue, the Ngong Ping cable car, markets, shops and trekking paths. An easy train journey takes guests to the Hong Kong Convention&Exhibition Centre right in the heart of Hong Kong, which has access to all the famous food, shopping, architecture and neon-lit pedestrian walkways that the city is famous for. 

At the annual gathering of the worlds eminent watch and jewelry brands in Basel, Switzerland, in April, Geneva-based luxury house Charriol unveiled several limited-edition watches, along with its 2013 range, to mark its 30th anniversary. 

The 2013 Columbus collection is the third generation of the line that was first created in 1988, five years after Charriol was founded, said Antoine Lecomte, who launched the 2013 watch and jewelry collections recently in Manila. Lecomte is Charriols area manager for Asia-Pacific, who has been responsible for the Philippine market since 2007. 

This year, were relaunching Columbus with a total new look, with a big size for men at 46 mm, and 36 mm for the ladies, Lecomte said. The new Columbus Grande Date GMT will have only 300 pieces made, while the Columbus Power Reserve will have only 30 pieces. A third model will have only three.This item is for one stainless steel bangles core for wood. 

The watch category comprises 40 percent of Charriols global business, according to Lecomte, who also underscored the changes the brand is undertaking to mark its 30-year milestone. The brand has commenced with its 18-month plan to renovate all existing stores, though the new boutique that just opened at Bonifacio High Street Central in Taguig still sports the old look. 

Charriol is going to change totally with the new store concept, although were keeping the DNA of the brandthe cable motif, the logo, the color, he said. We expect our stores to be fully renovated by early 2015.Charriol is bullish about growing its business in the Philippines, where its enjoying the loyal patronage of Filipinos all the way to Mindanao, via its local partner, Stores Specialists, Inc. In fact, when Zenaida Tantoco, SSI president, attended BaselWorld in April, Lecomte said, she spent most of her time at our booth.

The 30-mm St.-Tropez also comes in four other themes that are a nod to the French holiday town. The Sun style sports a sun motif at 12 oclock; the Seashells variant has seashell patterns etched on the dial. The St.-Tropez Love has the word love etched on the dial, but is only visible away from the light, while a floral motif is etched on the mother-of-pearl dial for the Flowers variant. 

As for the jewelry, Charriol is sending out cuffs, bangles, rings and bracelets that are reinterpretations of its classic twisted cable styles, done in steel with yellow or rose-gold PVD for the Forever Young range. The star is a thick, 69-mm cuff with a crisscross pattern encasing stacked cables.Charriol is an independent, fully family-owned company, a rarity in this age where luxury houses are owned by conglomerates. The founder still actively runs it. 

This makes us special, said Lecomte, who has been with Charriol for seven years. We have to finance all our projects, which big groups dont have to do. Thats a handicap. But at the same time, it also makes us very conscious of our every move. We never do anything unless were sure it will pay off because we dont rely on investors. Were a Swiss company with a lot of French people in the management. Were very flexible. Were allowed to do things that other brands arent allowed to. 

Davis, an up-and-coming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model who has been referred to as the next Kate Upton, has been wearing the massive ring since July, when she was spotted with the expensive jewelry at a Miami fashion show, the New York Daily News reports. Jeter and Davis have been spotted together regularly since 2012. 

Despite evidence that theyre engaged, neither Jeter nor Davis has acknowledged an upcoming engagement; in fact, the couple has yet to even confirm that they're in a relationship. Attempts to confirm the news with each partys representatives were met with a similar response -- a rep for Jeter ignored the Daily News inquiry regarding the alleged engagement while a spokesperson for Davis said, We dont comment on our clients personal lives. 

Jeter may not be ready to say if he's engaged, but jewelry experts are already confirming the news. A Diamond District jewelry expert claims Davis diamond ring is definitely an engagement ring, and noted that the jewelry is elegant, the Daily News reports; however, it's worth noting that Jeter wasn't spotted wearing a ring of his own. 

If Jeter and Davis are indeed getting ready to get married, it would be mark the end of Jeters life as a bachelor. The 39-year-old baseball player has been linked to beautiful women throughout his career, including Minka Kelly, Mariah Carey, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jordana Brewster, Adriana Lima and Scarlet.
